Makeup Collections and some ways of navigation

I finally managed to film a makeup collection video.
I wasn't feeling good enough to film a makeup tut, so I thought it might be a good time to film a collection video before the FTC stuff starts on December 1st.

Well, here's the video and for those that have wandered on to my blog looking for information, welcome!! :)

the best way to find things are looking up key words in the search box that is provided on the upper right side of this blog.

- Korean Haul
- Etude
- (whatever makeup brand you're looking for)
- haul
- swatches

I don't have the archive drop down menu, so if you really know what you want to look up, looking up key words will be the best bet.

Umm, some questions about my makeup collection.

I mostly bought the items throughout a very long period of time.
What happens is, I buy stuff, and I don't immediately start to use it. I kind of leave it there for a while and when I start using it, I try to use it up as fast as I can. And while I'm using something up, if I like it I have to buy backups. Obviously, I don't put that much makeup on (lately, that is), so the stuff that are building up are at a faster speed than disappearing.

And no, my boyfriend doesn't buy me any makeup products.. If there is one person to blame for spoiling me, that is going to be my best friend in Korea. She has always pampered me with high end products and likes giving me things. She's just a very giving person in general.

And that leads to how and where I got most of my Korean products - My friend and I collaborated. I ordered some things off the web (each products were ordered from their own websites) & my friend went out to the stores and got me some products.

Hope you all have a nice November rap up and a good December start :D
and stay warm~

*ps >> the picture is just a random picture taken with my old phone, but have any of you guys seen those.. (I call them the Hilton Money Babies) in NY? :) they are like little creatures all over the place (they have them at the 42nd street Hilton entrance and clock, and also in the 14th street station too :p)

Revitalash STEAL!!

* You will need a bing cashback account first if you want this deal. It is easy, and if you shop at sephora (online), you DEFINITELY need a cashback account *

For more about signing up (it's free) - go to

So, I was poking around, and doing some research on lash enhancers. Lilash and Revitalash seems to be the arch rivals.
After reading so many posts and reviews, I have come to a conclusion that

Lilash - noticeable difference takes a longer period of time, but if you want lash "growth" this is the king of it. Amazing lengths are added, yet after a while, lashes seem to get chopped off or grow unevenly.

Revitalash - Noticeable difference is visible faster, adds volume but not the crazy length like Lilash, more expensive.

So having so many people telling me that I have short lashes, I was thinking if I should buy any of these enhancers. The only thing that is still holding me back is.. only one out in the market (Latisse) is FDA approved, and none other are. I'm really iffy about it (tempting! yet hesitant).
I don't want to jeopardize my eyes with discoloration or irritation - or, even eye site problems.

But, I will post a way to get Revitalash for approximately a fraction of its price (Regular price - 150.00 dollars, and 52 dollars after bing cashback!)

First make sure you are logged in your cashback account.

1. Go to and search "revitalash"

2. there is going to be a baby blue colored box with the sponsored links.
Look for a coin mark that links to

3. click on it (not the coin, but just the link that says Revitalash :p)
you will see a window pop up like this that will guide you to the bing cash back applied page of that product
* note: on the sponsor's link, it says 20%, but the actual cashback you will get it 25%. (score!!)

4. and then BAMB!!! you are at drugstore's site!!
the sale price is 70 dollars, and if you buy it your bing cash back account will register the data and have 25% of it (17.50 dollars!) pending to be issued for you.

- plus it's free shipping since the product is over 25 dollars.

* you don't immediately get your 25% back. Bing holds the money until the designated company's return period is over (usually 30-60 days) so if you don't like the product you can simply return it. (and when you return it, you get the full amount of money you paid)

So you do pay 70 dollars at check out (NY pays tax...-_-), but Bing will give you 17.50 back at the end of the return period. Just so people don't mess around with the system.

If you are too lazy for all this, you could always purchase it regularly on for 70 dollars. I still think they have the lowest price on Revitalash right now.

Sephora is also a participating company with the Bing cashback program.
If you buy from, you get 10% back :) I should have posted earlier, but during the FF 2009 sale, Bing was still giving 10% cashback on the regular retail value. So let's say I bought something that is regularly retailed at 100 dollars, Bing gave me 10 dollars back, and sephora applied 20% off, which will be like 30 dollars savings.

Yay for Bing cashback :) Yay for microsoft and its deep pockets full of cash!

Hope this post helped you guys!
let me know if any of you buy revitalash!

bargain hunter,

Non-Skin care Skin Care Tips

I know I will sound a bit OCD in this post, but I wanted to share some daily habits of mine that might help you guys have better skin. And I do apologize for making this post text heavy. It's my nature :'( I like writing in a lengthy manner (so old school, LOL)

To start off, I just want to put it out there that my skin has changed since my puberty ended. Nobody in my mom or dad's family has acne or pimples and I am the only one (out of all my family and relatives) that has acne and pimple problems. It started after I hit 20, and ever since my first breakouts its been all downhill =_=

So I guess this is acquired knowledge from past mistakes or things I really didn't care about :p
I am only going to address some life style tips here and nothing directly related to putting something on or doing something directly to your skin.

1. Take a shower at night

I have oily hair and used to take showers in the morning so my hair could stay nice and fluffy through out the day. But think about how much dust and dirty stuff your hair collects while you are outside. It's like a magnet! And think of sleeping on that hair and everything in that hair.... unless you sleep on your back with your hair pulled back, that hair is going to get on your face while you tumble and toss while sleeping. And even if your hair doesn't get on you, it's on the pillow and the pillow is rubbing on you.
So what I do is, after I am done with my outings, I take a shower and don't go out anymore (shower occurs usually between 9PM - 12AM).
If you think about it, it makes complete sense to take a shower at night. You have worked or done something all day long and your body has secreted so much stuff, and your hair has so much in it - it is logical to clean all of that up before you get into bed. Fresh and clean :D
After I switched to night-showering, my acne problems (especially those around the borders of my skin and hair) have calmed down significantly.

* I know this is an off-topic issue, and I know it's cultural difference and I really don't care unless it happens to me, but one thing I never understood was people getting on their beds with their shoes on... To me, a bed is an extremely clean, holy place :p I wouldn't even go near my bed with even socks or jeans on. Anything that has had outside contact or was been in a sweaty shoe is not clean enough to go near my bed. Yet when I watch TV, so many people seem to have no problems getting on the bed with their shoes on. It's like bringing the streets on to your bed. Maybe it's just me :p and maybe it is just the city I am living in. NYC streets are really ghetto and filthy. You can see rats running around diners, garbage bags are always piled up on walkways, weird liquids are always leaking out of the bags and people step all over it.. And some people seem to have no problem getting those shoes on their beds :( But it's just cultural difference, and like I said, unless someone does that to my bed, I really don't care. I'm just throwing it out there. It's like some people thinking Asian people are dirty and weird for taking their shoes off when entering a house - everything is cultural and there's no right answer to the issue. It is just something I thought was interesting. *

2. Wash your pillow case often.

This is related to number 1, if you go to sleep with clean hair your pillow case should equally be cleaned often. Try using a natural and mild detergent (I use Seventh Generation's Ultra Concentrated Natural Baby laundry Detergent)

This will at least minimize risking your face rubbing on unclean surfaces.

If your pillow looks even remotely as dirty as this... just.. just.. throw it away...

3. Look at your shampoo label.

I wrote a post about shampoo and chemicals in it, but you should really get into a habit of checking labels especially if it is something you are either going to put on your body, or consume it.
Same with shampoo. If it is heavily loaded with cheap and harmful ingredients like SLS (or Sodium Lauryl Sulfate) or questionable chemicals, might as well try to get a more natural ingredient concentrated one. I think shampoo is important because shampoo and conditionor residues could easily stay in your hair, and your hair really has a lot of contact with your face. Some may argue that they can't invest a couple more dollars into a better quality shampoo and are happy with their current shampoos, but it's like sacrificing a lipgloss for two bottles of really good shampoo. Now that doesn't sound so expensive does it? :)

4. Wash your hands often and watch what you're touching.

I wash my hands like a mad man. It's probably because I touch my face (to be specific, my acne spots) alot, and I touch a lot of other stuff too. I flip my hair a lot, I touch door knobs, I touch the elevator buttons, I touch the subway pole when the train comes to a sudden stop, I touch money, I touch a lot of things and if I don't wash my hands often, my hands are going to wander off to my face. It will be like rubbing my face on surfaces that god knows who or what touched.
I know this sounds OCD, but there's really no harm in washing your hands often. Especially if you like picking on your face like me.

5. Get enough sleep!

Whenever I have bad sleep or am super stressed out, my skin has an outbreak overkill. I try a lot of things, but the best remedy (for me, at least) is sleeping enough, or catching up with my missed sleep - aka the beauty sleep. I put aside my worries and try to force myself to sleep at least an minimum of 8 hours. Usually what happens is, after 2-3 nights of doing so, my skin starts to clear out.

6. Eat properly.

If you know it is bad for you, cut it out.
We all know junky food does us no good, except excite our taste buds for a few seconds. Snacks and coke were my closest friends in my early 20s. I would skip regular meals because I was always full with snacks and other junk food. And then I would feel extremely guilty, and try to make up the overloaded calories by skipping some meals, and then I'd get really hungry and binge on snacks again (such a vicious cycle!)

I drastically changed my diet after I met my boyfriend (which is almost 2 years ago).
I cut out meat, I eat everything organic (or at least natural), anything artificial is almost 99% cut out of my life, I don't eat out as often (eating out is fun and the food is tasty, but there's not a lot of healthy options out there), meals are all home cooked, I don't fry anything (everything is baked in the oven), no white rice, no white bread, no trans fat, no partially hydrogenated anything, and so on. And my skin has really improved.

* If you have a whole foods near you, I recommend shopping there. People have this misconception of whole foods being expensive, but if you compare it to other grocery stores, whole foods has extremely competitive prices (most of the time I find it cheaper than food emporium, morton williams or other places to shop). Whole foods is a huge chain and they always have great deals and sales so go get your fresh veggies and healthy food at whole foods :D

It's like a health nut's heaven. The products are heavily leaned towards natural, organic and eco-friendly products. The selection is wide so it's not like you get stuck with a product you are unwilling to buy.

* If you don't live in the states or don't have whole foods in your country, try to buy products that are fresh and organic.

Cutting out bad eating habits doesn't necessarily have anything to do with body mass. I do have to admit you do lose a good amount of weight if you cut out bad junky food, but it's more about getting healthy than losing weight or changing your figure.

I know some people are going to roll their eyes and think being healthy is annoying, but there's no reason to be appalled with one trying to be healthy. It's a gradual change and investment in your own life - even in the near future regarding your skin and beauty, so you should really be careful of what you consume.

When I was like 20, 21 so many people worried about my unhealthy diet. I had a huge ego thinking that I was exceptional and special, I could stuff my face with junk food and I'd be just as fine and young as I were. Oops, but no. My unhealthy diet really got at me, and if I could turn back time, I would have never done such damage to my body and health. So don't think you are okay because you are young and beautiful at the moment. Your health and body is a long term investment.

Okay, that was an insanely long post :p I feel like I wrote a testimony on here, but try to look back at your tracks through out the day. Just being aware of simple stuff and changing some daily habits could really result in a big change! (living example here :p)

This is how bad my skin got at one point.

I still have the scars left (because I was stupid enough to pick on them), but other than that, after changing some life style habits that I've listed above, I no longer have huge outbreaks like this. So even if you aren't gifted with the "perfect skin", don't give up and try to make your skin perfect in the right way :D

Take good care of yourselves :)

It's called genetics

Like seriously?
I literally laughed when I saw these comments. (didn't I already tell you, don't write comments back to back, it's too obvious).

whore and dude.. what a combo!

I mean, seriously? I have a long face, why would I add more length to face by adding an implant to my chin?
This will be the first and last time I address such issue, but I'm sorry to say this, it runs in the family. Like it or not, unless you change my genes I'm always going to have my walnut chin.
If I had the opportunity to put implants in my body, wouldn't I aim for the boobs or booty instead of making an already long face longer?
My mom gave me the genes to have a double folded and round protruded chin like the pictures below. I feel extremely sorry for my mom and cousin having to use their pictures. I'm not going to explain myself anymore because of some ignorant people thoughtlessly speaking out of their asses.

so are you going to say my mom and I got implants in our chins together?
Our chins just happen to look like that.

Everyone in my mom's family wrinkles and creates dimples in their chin when they smile or pull their mouths.
So I guess people who naturally look like that are all subject to implant accusations, sheez.. sounds like some people need a life =/

even my mom's older brother's son has the thing about his chin

So, boo to those thoughtless people who just think verbal diarrhea would make them feel better about themselves.
I mean it's not just me, some youtube people often display obnoxious attitudes thinking they are all cool behind their monitors. If you think you can boost your self esteem via youtube, think before you write or talk, there's a reason why we have brains.

Peace out girls

Ana Beatriz Barros

As we may have all seen on the news, the Victoria's Secret fashion show was in NYC the other day. I have been watching every show since 2004 (my favorite one was 2005!), and as usual, my favorite model Ana Beatriz Barros was on the stage for the sixth year :) yay!

I have been rooting for Ana Beatriz Barros (My Favorite Model in the whole world XD I love her so so much) since 2005 and I really do wish good things will happen to Ana-B. She's such a bomb. Her body, eyes, voice.. everything screams "I'm Hella Sexy!!!"

So, today I just felt like doing an Ana-B 2009 VS fashion show look.
here are some pictures of her on the runway of the 2009 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.

Here are some close-ups of her makeup

Her straight, slightly arched eyebrows are her signature look - which makes her eyes look more sultry and overall gives her a very exotic look.

Anywho, so let's start and see how we can recreate her look.
First, do you basics. I used Revlon's colorstay foundation

Now do you eyebrows. They don't necessarily have to be thick, but remember to make them dark and defined.

I used e.l.f's eyebrow difiner and filer.

Now, prime your crease area with a cream or primer, preferably something with a reddish or pinkish tone.
Try to bring the color all the way to the bridge of your nose.

I mixed and used Lancome's Crayon Glisse in Rose gold and Benefit's Creaseless cream shadow in Pre-Nup.

Now using a 217 brush from MAC, I'm going to dab this peachy color first and put it all over the primed crease (I am using the Coastal Scents 88 Shimmer palette)

right here

and then using the same brush, dab a bit of brown on the brush and sweep it back and forth on top of the peach color.
This way the three shades (reddish pink, peach and brown) can show through in a nice blend :)

Alright with a clean fluffy brush, try to blend out the harsh lines.

Arghh.. look at all the brush fall outs!
That is my least favorite brush.. :p
But, anyway.. blend blend blend!

Using a white or silvery shade and a clean brush, highlight the brow bone area.

Now using anything glittery and sticky (I am using Missha's Shine Stick shadow as a base) and anything that can sparkle on your lids (I am using MAC's Kitchmas pigment on top of the Missha) and apply ..
all over the lids and on the inner corner of your eyes like so.

remember to bring the focus towards the inner corner (not the outer) of your eyes :)

Now slightly line your lashlines. No need to wing or draw it thick.

I used Stila's smudge pot in black.
I... I look like I have no lashes... (wth!)

So, now it's time for Revlon's self-adhesive lashes.
At first I was confused a bit, but the rim part is sticky, so all you have to do is put them right above the lash line and they will stick like magic :D

I used the 99501 Defining lashes

They were pretty and defining, yet I needed some more..
Ana-B has dolly lashes that almost reach her eyebrows, but after going through my inventory, the closest I could get was these Beauty Credit lashes (in number 6)

I stacked these on top of the revlon lashes..
and it comes out like this
(Oh, forgot a step. If you have any highlighting shade left on your brush, you can dab some pigment on top of it and try to create some highlights along the eyes. Well, that's how Ana-B's highlights were :p)

Now using any type of blusher or bronzer you want (I mixed the body shop's cheek bloom in Desert Rose and MAC's mineralized blush in Nuance) contour the hollow of your cheeks.
like right here...

now rest is pretty easy :)
I added a bit more pigment to the inner corners of my eyes
I added some colors to my lips using this
A banila co. lipgloss in doesn't say on the bottom but I remember it having coral in its name.

and the eyes look like this..

(excuse my pimples XD I dunno why, but they my skin is breaking out like crazy lately)

and the whole face looks like this

Sorry.. I didn't know where to stare =/ blahh~

Hmm, if I could go back and redo stuff, I wouldn't have put so much highlighter on the brow bone area and gotten silver chunky glitter instead of using pigments.
I totally screwed up on the brow bone part, so ladies, when you are doing this, be very gentle when applying the highlighter. :)

Anyway, hope you guys enjoyed :D

here's two more pictures of gorgeous Ana-B!

massively long legs!!

awww, so pretty :) you go girl!
Never in a million years did I think I was going to say this to a girl but man.. even her bra is sexy *blushes*

Alright, enough of my girl-crush on her :p
have a great weekend girls!

Revlon Lashes! :)

Yay~ so the package from Revlon finally came today.
I have never tried Revlon lashes before so I'm excited about these :D
I have short, brittle lashes so false lashes are always tempting. I like the ones that don't look fake but adds volume and some length to the eyes.

I was sent 5 lashes, 2 that are the traditional glue on ones, and three that are the new ones - the self adhesive ones.

So the self-adhesive ones are the ones that Revlon claims that you don't need glues to glue it on. There is an extra adhesive band included along with an eyelash applicator.

I will upload how the lashes look tomorrow, and try to show you guys how the lashes look on eyes with makeup on (I already took a shower and didn't want to put makeup on tonight =/ sorry girls)

This is the self adhesive lashes in 99500 intensifying (I got two of these)

Self adhesive 99501 in Defining

And then this was the glue on ones 91003 - Flirty (two of these)

Hmm, I was wondering where the lashes were made from, and like many lashes, these were made in Indonesia. But I noticed that it left a huge carbon footprint all over the world :'(
Lashes made in Indonesia, Lash glue made in Korea and shipped and packaged in Mexico, shipped around in US.. yikes :p

But anywho, I could only wish that cosmetics companies could become a bit more eco-friendly. :)

I'll see you guys in the post tomorrow. I might upload a pic tut too.
Which style do you guys like?

Good night ladies!

The Color Tag

I was tagged by Uinisan and I had to bring out a couple of my stuff that were gray. I had a hard time because I must be going crazy, I can't differentiate between grays and silvers.
So, here's all I could collect. Man, I should get some more gray makeup stuff. I feel so incomplete.

Here's a full shot of the grays..

1. Time Warner Cable remote control.
haha, yeah.. I don't have fios at home, but TWC is.. uh.. I guess ok. I do like the start over option, but it's not applicable to all channels. Also, the only down side of it is, once you hit start over, you can't fast forward through the show. But other than that, I have a crappy TV, so can't complain about HD features or so LOL.

2. iPod Classic 120G
I think this is my fourth ipod. Previously I had the 5th Generation classic and due to my constant dropping and pressing buttons randomly, the machine went dead, so I had to buy another classic to fit all my songs in it. I think I have like 5200 songs in it, but I only listen to a handful :p
I wouldn't have been able to survive school if my ipods weren't there. I always had to have some sort of music banging in my ears while I was walking or when I was on the subway.

3. Maquillage Shadow
It's more of an ashy-shimmery color with a lot of shimmers in it. I bought this at Narita Airport back in 2006 or 2007 (I think). I don't reach for it as often as I reach for the brown shade, but it is a very Japanese charcoal color (if that even makes sense).
You can watch a video of me using that shade here

4. Kate Dual carat
I think the product name is listed under black, but it's more silvery gray!
Like all dual carats, it comes in two colors, which is really convenient because you can basically create a great look with using only two shades :)
I have two other dual carats, and my favorite one is the BR01.
I love KATE eyeshadows! I think there is a reason why KATE e/s are always constantly rated #1 in Japan.

5. Fob Key!
It's this key that you have to gain access to my building and all the accommodations (like the breakfast room, movie room, gym, and even when you walk in the building). Every fob key is registered under a resident's name, address and uh.. picture...., and my picture in the system is horrifying LOL. I mean, this is why I don't let guys take pictures.. they don't seem to care if you are ready or not and just press the shutter while you're talking, and then they refuse to take another shot for you *cries*. But all is good. I would be happy to get a print out of my picture when I move out :D

6. Philly elephant
I like going to Philadelphia, PA. And last time I went there, me and my boyfriend went to this museum and at the museum store, they were selling these really tiny animal figures for 25 cents each. I collect at least one animal whenever I go to zoos or aquariums, so I was going to buy like one penguin and one other animal, but ended up with a lot of animals including this elephant :D
He's very rubbery and small, yet great details!

7. Stila Smudge pot in Gray
It's one of the three smudge pots I got from Beauty Crunch. I really like the black smudge pot. It's like permanent ink! If you guys are looking for non-smudging eyeliners, Stila smudge pots are the way to go. Once it dries, it won't even smear a bit. It's fixed on there all day long.
As you can see in the photo, I haven't used the gray one yet, but it's gray! so it got featured in this tag :p

8. A mouse pad.
It's not mine, but it was in the room haha.
Cute :D

9. Dior Capture R 60/80
Hmm... really don't know what to say about this baby. I'm almost out of it, yet I am still waiting to be impressed by it. It's a liquid lotion and it is on the moisturizing side. But I like the cream type better, it feels more secure (?).
I can't really say it captures your youth and is a pre-wrinkle treatment. It's just a very very light weighted liquid lotion that gives you average moisturizing treatment.

10. A metallic gray scarf
It is insanely long, yet very fashionable and versatile.

11. My everyday in-house skirt.
7 for all men kind gray mini skirt. I think I bought it like 2 years ago, ever since, I have been wearing it whenever I am home. It's kind of stretchy like all 7 jeans and it's very comfy. good to get down on my knees and polish the floor. And if it gets too loose, all I have to do is throw it in the washer and it will shrink right back to its original size.

12. Zara turtle neck.
Contrary to the skirt, this doesn't stretch at all. So the neck part is actually very pretty because it's tight, but I have a hard time squeezing my big head into the neck section when I have to wear this. My face gets all red and hair all messed up :p LOL
The shirt is a bit long, it crinkles around the hip area, so if you have a big mid-section or a big hip, this shirt might not be right for you. But it goes very well with anything - jeans, a suit, skirts, shorts~

Ok, and here's a bonus shot :p
An army of cute grays!!

Some penguins are missing (like my favorite Bethy Beth), but most of them took the time to take off their shirts in order to show their grays :D

Hope you guys have an awesome night/day :)
