A disastrous tut - wasted

Some of you might have seen it on youtube last night, but I uploaded a tut, and nothing was right. The colors were weirdly yellow, the description was never saved, the title I saved was gone.. and a whole lot of disastrous things.

I've been trying to alter how the video colors come out, but I just think it's beyond my abilities, so I will post the end result, and hopefully try to gather myself to film this tut again. The problem with me is, editing the film takes up a whole day and I have this sense of exhaustion after I finish a video - but I'm crossing my fingers that the recovery period will rapidly decrease in the near future.

So here's the end result

It was a tut on soft, winged out eyes that could be achieved in less than 5-10 minutes.
Sorry if I got any of you confused or waiting.

Hope nothing like this happens in the new year >_<)

I just had to..

Some of you might know, some might not - but I'm not very committed to celebs. I do have certain people I am (literally) loyal for many years, but most celebs come and go.

My (constant) favorite super model has been Ana Beatriz Barros for quite a while, and I think some of you might have seen a post I recently wrote - which was me, drooling over her and trying to recreate her VS runway look.

Anywho, I am a sucker at twitter because I don't check it regularly and usually I miss the timing to reply or retweet some tweets I would have liked to if I had seen it earlier.
It was a couple of days ago, luckily enough I was on twitter when Ana Beatriz was tweeting. I asked her a question, not really expecting her to reply, and completely forgot about it.

But taadaa!!!!!!

hehe.. I was so surprised and it was really sweet of her to answer my (rather stupid) question XD
Now I love her even more!! I love how she isn't snooty like most celebs on twitter who think their fans are there to be ignored.

Like I said before, I genuinely wish the best of Ana-B, and hope that great things will happen to her for a very long time :)

If you don't know who she is here's a video from YT that's a tribute to her.

Hehe, oh - and I am quite ashamed of myself for only making two videos in December so far =/
My goal is 10 (total) by the end of the year. Wish me luck >.<)/

The UK Haul & swatches

So, I made a haul video featuring some products my boyfriend got for me while he was in London :)
For all those UKers out there, this might be a dull post haha. Oh, and my boyfriend really liked London. He's pretty much flying all over the place a lot, but London seem to have excited him for some reason :p

Anywho, so if you already haven't seen the video, here it is.

To cut to the chase, here are some photos.

I would usually do swatches and photos with the Canon 50D, but all the memory cards are full and I have little patience to empty them out. So today's swatches are all taken with my panasonic fz35

Here's everything minus the sleek palette

The Lipsticks (L-R: GOSH 134 Darling, Barry M 100 Baby Pink, Barry M 146 Dolly Pink, Barry M 147 Peachy Pink)

Gosh 134 Darling lipstick swatch.

Verdict: Compared to the Barry M lip Paints, I think the gosh is superior in quality. The texture is extremely creamy and silky and it is a true beige, nude color. It's not matte and has a sheen to it.
Overall, I do think it being a bit more expensive than the Barry M Lip Paints makes sense.

Barry M #100 - Baby Pink

Verdict: It looks matte in the picture, but it actually is more on the creamy side. You have to apply a lot of layers to get the thick baby pink look. The sheerness is comparable to MAC glaze finishes. Other than that I like how the lipstick isn't scented.

Barry M #146 - Dolly Pink.

Verdict: Much more vibrant and pigmented than the Baby Pink. Only a couple of strokes delivers great pigmentation. It has a bit of glossy sheen like the baby pink.

Barry M #147 - Peachy Pink

Verdict: Matte, peachy (almost neon) pink. It's matte so it is a bit drying than the other two lip paints, but the color is amazing. If you build up the color it comes off as a bit neon coral. It is the right amount of pigmentation and isn't an awkward color - so surprisingly enough, I think this can be used as an everyday color.
If you don't like it thickly applied, one layer delivers a look of "tinted.. yet in a matte texture" look (if that even makes sense LOL)

The Sleek Palette (The Original 594)

The exterior.
woah! that camera picks up a lot of dust LOL

The colors.
Very nice colors :) I like..

swatches accordingly on my hand.

a close-up.

Verdict: As you can see on the lower hand lighter colors, the formulation is a bit crumby. A lot of excess shadow could get all over the place and while I was swatching, I had to blow off the excess shadow dusts. But other thatn that, I think the colors are fab :)

The Dazzle Dusts & Fine Glitter Dusts.
(L-R: 8 Silver Iridescent, 24 Old Gold, 39 Tan)

(L-R: 53 Chocolate, 97 Dark Chocolate, Glitter dust 4 Silver)

(L-R: 4 Glitter dust Silver, 22 Glitter Dust Black Gold)

Swatches in natural lighting, no flash

Sheez, the swatch pictures do no justice to how glittery and pretty these are. I think watching the video will help you understand how massive these glitters and sparkles are.

Other goodies :p

Amazingly enough, all of the emperor penguins I have are babies. And the boyfriend brought back three additions to the collection - and they are adults!! XD
The funny thing is, most of the babies tower the adults so it is funny to see them sitting together, but I really like these penguins. :}

so cute XD

and since I am obsessed with stationary stuff (especially notebooks), he bought two penguin notebooks for me :D how nice, hehe.

I'll try to post the MAC pigments post soon

New Circle/Colored contact lenses :)

Hi Girls :)

Sorry I've been MIA for a couple of days. I finally had my JLPT (Japanese Language Proficiency Test) yesterday and I was away for a few days to do my usual massive cramming I do before exams :p
For those that were curious, I took level 1 and it was unexpectedly pretty easy. I think I over worried about it. The key point to preparing JLPT is trying out previous exams and figuring out the structure of the test. Once you've understood that, studying will be much easier than trying to tackle it heads first with no direction.

So, other than that :D a few days ago, I received some lenses to try out from Pinkyparadise.com
* FTC: I did receive the products for free , but didn't get paid to endorse them.

They are based in Malaysia and I actually like their user friendly website and massive collection. I just want to see more actual swatches of the lenses because the Japanese girls' versions just don't seem "actual". It's always hard to find real-life swatches of products when it comes down to colored/circle lenses.

This is how the packaging came.

I asked for EOS Adult Brown and Hana SPC in natural brown, but there was a bit of miscommunication and I ended up with EOS Adult Green instead of brown.

The Hana SPC's diameter is 14.5 mm, which makes your iris look bigger and rounder, hence making your eyes look bigger (or that's what they say =/). If you have extremely narrow and small eyes, I don't think these will be quite flattering because it will fill your eyes up too much (I think just regular diameter lenses will be more suitable in that case).

The EOS Adult green are 14.0 and they look more like baby blue than green. It also has a blue-purple limbic ring around it rather than a black ring.

* - * - * - * - * - * - * - [ Hana SPC - Natural Brown ] * - * - * - * - * - * - * - * - *

The product swatch picture of these lenses are pretty exaggerated. It doesn't give you that hazel color if you have dark brown eyes like me. It blends in really nicely with dark browns, so if you want to just make your iris look bigger and nothing unnatural, these are pretty good :)

Here's a comparison

It doesn't necessarily make my iris look any bigger than it is. I have a pretty big iris size and long eyes with lots of white showing. I asked my boyfriend which eye looked bigger and he didn't even know I had lenses on :p

Looks pretty natural, you can't even notice the black limbic ring

Looking sideways, it doesn't get stuck in the corner of your eyes and create that awkward "lens separation" :)

Looking up is pretty smooth too. I think the light exposure is uneven in every picture. Anywho, if there is a lot of natural light in this picture, you can kind of see the lens. But the gradation is very natural, so if you like natural looks - this is a really nice choice.

with soft indoor lighting.

You can actually see the lamp reflection on my eyeball :p

(note: see how contracted my pupil is - the light was nearly touching my face)

Even if your eyes are exposed to extreme lighting, these lenses are hard to notice (IF you are an asian and you have dark brown eyes like me). For anyone who has lighter tones, I think it will be way more noticeable than this.

Overall, the lens is pretty thin so it's comfortable to have on. It doesn't have that "floating on the surface of the eye" feeling which is nice. If you want a natural look - it's good, if you want a pop in your eyes - it's not the one to go for. Direct sun light makes the lens a bit noticeable, but soft, artificial indoor lighting makes it hard to tell that you have lenses on.

* - * - * - * - * - * - * - [ EOS - Adult Green ] * - * - * - * - * - * - * - * - *

Like all other "adult" colors, the green doesn't necessarily live up to its color name. It rather looks more like baby blue or light lavender-blue. It also has a purple limbic ring, so it at least lessens some of the awkward color contrast.

Indoor lighting really up close.

Looking away.
It is slim enough not to get caught in the inner corner of the eye and make the lens drift from the eye surface. But like most colored lenses, if the original eye color and the lens' color is strikingly different - it does give that detached feeling when you look at the eye at various angles. Also, it is really obvious that I'm wearing colored lenses.

The adult greens are rather like baby blues. If you are looking for an opaque baby blue color, the adult greens do give you that look. I still think the best and natural looking green lenses are the freshlook color lenses (amazingly natural, even on dark brown eyes!). But if you want more of an obviously blue/green colored lenses, these are the ones to go with. I have a lot of blue lenses, and these are the ones that come out the lightest. Others have a hint of foggy-blue, but these are really noticeable.

here's an extra shot of each lens on each eye.

PS. Please excuse my bushy brows LOL I am growing them out to make an eyebrow tut :p

Ok, have a lovely day ladies :)
