I uploaded a video introducing two months worth of GLOSSYBOXes.
I received May box way back then... and never had a chance to open it. When I received my June box a few days ago, I was like "Ohh... I should film the unboxing of the two!"
Sorry I'm a bit slacking with my video and posts. I really have no excuse, but I am trying my best to balance out a lot of things in my life.
So shall we start?
MAY 2012 box.
I like the May box more than the June box.
It had a nice "International" theme and the products are a bit more practical (at least to me).
Amore Pacific (South Korea) - a tiny sample sized Moisture Bound Refreshing Hydra-Gel was included. Full sized bottle's retail price is $100.00, so... I guess even this small sample is generous. My initial impressions of this product was (a) very silky and smooth, (b) not sticky and (c) no perfume in it (yay!).
Burberry Beauty (UK) - Also a tiny sample of Lip Mist Natural Sheer Lipstick in 202 Copper. Wow, retail price for full sized product is $30.00. A bit excessive, considering that Burberry isn't a traditional cosmetics brand, but I guess I can understand a bit of the hype. It applies smoothly and the color doesn't fade (after a meal I could still see it going strong on my lips). You can refer to the video on how it applies and how sheer it is.
MARVIS (Italy) - A full sized tube of whitening mint toothpaste. I like how the outer box design is, but I have yet to tried the actual paste. I'm not a huge fan of whitening products (face or teeth), so I don't think I will be eager to use it, but I will try using it while traveling. It's a great size for traveling!
PHYTO (France) - A deluxe sample size of Phytojoba Intense Hydrating Mask for Dry Hair. I have had some experience with phyto products and I wasn't really impressed with what they had to offer. I don't want that one product ruining my expectations for the brand. I like the size that it came in and hopefully they will deliver what they promise (nourishing hair without wieghing it down)! I've only tried it once (today, actually) - so I'll try to keep you guys updated when I'm about to run out of the entire bottle.
Zoya (USA) - Ahh, good ol' ZOYA. I love ZOYA polishes (I even have a ZOYA Haul video here) and I like how glossybox sent a more recent color. My color is Kimber from Beach and Surf Collection. It is a pretty magenta color with golden shimmers in it. Like most of ZOYA products, application is smooth and pigmentation is great!
Next is the June 2012 box.
A bit less exciting than it's counter May box, but nonetheless a pretty good valued box!
AHAVA - Mineral Botanic Hibiscus & Fig Velvet Cream Wash. It boasts that the formal is from Dead Sea minerals and that it contains natural minerals. My first impressions was : "smells like shampoo!". I'm a bit apprehensive about swiftly changing skin care products, but I'm going to give this one a try!
First Aid Beauty - Smooth Shave Cream. At first I thought it was for guys, haha! It's actually for the legs! I tried it in the shower today and it applies well and helps the shaving process go smooth. Usually when I shave my legs I can feel them drying up, but I didn't feel the tense dryness today. So far, I like!
OFRA - Eyeshadow in ICE. I think watching the video is the best! :) I like the concept and how the formula has an absolutely solid performance. The only down fall (actually two) will be (1) it takes a while for it to dry and (2) it's hard to get off with a makeup remover.
vBEAUTE - three small sized samples. My thoughts are in the video.
WELLA PROFESSIONALS - Enrich Moisturizing Treatment. It's a very small amount, but I've actually tried this product before and I liked it! It locks in moisture without progressing the greasiness throughout the day. I do want to warn oily hair people to use very small amounts at the ends of your hair.
Thanks for watching/reading :D
